Rise to the challenge.
Being part of the Qantas team requires each of us to rise to different challenges.
We work in a tough environment where we’re often expected to achieve the impossible, supported by good leadership, trust and respect. From our earliest days, people have been our priority; both the people who work for us, and the people who travel with us.
Today we employ over 30,000 exceptional individuals, with roughly 93% based in Australia, and together we fly over 50 million customers every year across Australia and around the world.
If you’re successful in joining us, you’ll be joining a team where creativity, diversity and innovation are encouraged. Every member of the Qantas Group enjoys the opportunity and support to follow their dreams, face new challenges and aim for the impossible.
About us
Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia’s largest domestic and international airline.
Registered originally as the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS), Qantas is widely regarded as the world’s leading long distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia. We’ve built a reputation for excellence in safety, operational reliability, engineering and maintenance, and customer service.
The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers using two complementary airline brands – Qantas and Jetstar. Our airline brands operate regional, domestic and international services. The Group’s broad portfolio of subsidiary businesses ranges from Qantas Freight Enterprises to Qantas Frequent Flyer.
Why work for Qantas? Rise to the challenge
Our customers and competitors know us as one of the world’s leading long-distance airlines and one of Australia’s most iconic brands. This reputation rests on our history of excellence in safety, operational reliability, engineering, maintenance and customer service.
Training with the Qantas Group Pilot Academy
Qantas has appointed Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) as the training provider for the Toowoomba site.
FTA is a world-class training provider for the Australian aviation industry and some of the world’s leading airlines. Since its founding in 1982, FTA has been focused on producing future airline captains, rather than simply training students to obtain a licence.
In partnership with the Qantas Group, FTA offers a full range of services, including student selection, ab initio and advanced training courses, as well as management of accommodation facilities onsite at Toowoomba’s Wellcamp Airport. FTA’s highly trained and committed staff ensure that the training environment and content of the courses not only exceed student expectations but also contribute to the creation of a truly world-class pilot school.
Mentoring and Career Planning
Students will have the option to join the Qantas Group Future Pilot Program, which provides access to career development support and mentors. As part of the program, students will learn what it’s like to be a commercial airline pilot, the career paths available and how to achieve their career aspirations.
Whether students dream of one day flying on our international network, connecting communities in regional Australia or giving back to aviation through a career as an instructor, the Qantas Group Future Pilot Program will assist students to better understand the pathways available to them.
