Who We Are
When JetBlue first took flight in February 2000, it was founded on the idea of bringing humanity back to air travel. Twenty years later, we still put people at the center of everything we do as we inspire humanity.
But before we even had aircraft to fly, our founders chose five values to guide us – they’re who we are, what we stand for and what we’ll never compromise on. Our values of safety, caring, integrity, passion and fun inspire our culture and guide the decisions that we make every day.
A lot has happened in the past two decades! We’ve gone international, added different aircraft to our fleet, installed fleet-wide Fly-Fi®, introduced our premium travel experience Mint®, launched two innovative subsidiaries (JetBlue Technology Ventures and JetBlue Travel Products) and most recently announced our European debut (landing in London in 2021). We have a lot to be proud of and even more to look forward to!
Travel Perks
We know this is what you really want to know about – standby travel is one of the most exciting perks of working in the aviation industry! Our crewmembers enjoy the benefit of free standby travel on JetBlue, as well as reduced-rate standby travel on other select airlines. This unique industry-wide privilege enables our crewmembers to experience destinations across our network and all over the world. Personally, we think it’s the best work perk ever and we have a feeling that you’ll enjoy too.
Of course, we wouldn’t be who we are without our 22,000 crewmembers – they’re the heart of our brand and our greatest asset. Together, we deliver the JetBlue experience to more than 40 million customers each year to nearly 100 cities in the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America. We’re proud to be New York’s Hometown Airline®, and a leading carrier in Boston, Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Juan.
People & Culture
Step onboard and you’ll quickly notice that JetBlue is a special place to work. We’re all hands on deck – one team working towards our mission of inspiring humanity. We believe our real value isn’t defined by titles or offices – it’s about how we create the JetBlue experience together. Below, you’ll find a few of the many unique programs at JetBlue designed to help you grow in your role, give back to our communities and of course, have fun!
JetBlue University
When you join JetBlue, you’ll attend our new hire orientation at our Orlando Support Campus. It’s during these first few days that our ‘Baby Blues’ learn more about our airline, spend time with leaders from across the network and make lifelong friendships with fellow crewmembers. JetBlue University is home to our state-of-the-art training facilities, classrooms and simulators.
Next door to JBU, you’ll find JetBlue Lodge – our home-away-from-home for Crewmembers visiting Orlando for initial or recurrent training. Complete with a gym, pool and our friendly Tailfin Bar, there’s sure to be something for everyone to make their stay as fun and comfortable as possible.
JetBlue Scholars
We believe it’s never too late to learn something new. That’s why we offer our crewmembers the opportunities to grow, both professionally and personally. Throughout the year, crewmembers can participate in career development, leadership courses, special assignments and online learning. Through JetBlue Scholars, we also offer crewmembers the opportunity to pursue their associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree at a subsidized or more accessible rate.
Diversity & Inclusion at JetBlue
Here at JetBlue, diversity goes beyond ethnicity, race and geography. Integrity is one of our values, after all, and we celebrate all our differences, whether they relate to our backgrounds, ages and abilities, our approaches or our gender identities. Every day we live our mission to inspire humanity as a leader in inclusion. JetBlue is a proud, equal opportunity employer—not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because we think it’s more fun that way, too.
JetBlue Equals represents our diversity and inclusion efforts as an organization. We believe that the unique and shared identities, experiences, and thoughts of our Crewmembers, Customers, and communities are a tremendous asset that can help grow and strengthen our business.
