Finding this out is the central question of the current study “German Customer Award 2021/22” – the large Germany-wide ranking in the areas of customer satisfaction, customer service and price-performance ratio – which the DtGV – German Society for Consumer Studies again this year carried out and for which more than 335,000 customer opinions were obtained for a total of 2,377 companies from 236 sectors .
As in previous years, there were major differences in customer satisfaction between companies and sectors. While the best-rated companies achieved a customer satisfaction score of 8.6 out of 10 possible points, the worst scored just 45 points.
There was also a change at the top of the cross-industry customer champions in 2021. As in 2019, dm was able to regain first place in customer satisfaction and customer service from Amazon. Together with the 1st place for the best value for money, dm is at the top in all categories. In terms of customer satisfaction, the online shops of dm and Rossmann ranked second and third, ahead of refrigerator manufacturer Liebherr in fourth place. In terms of customer service, Miele ranks third behind dm’s online and stationary offerings. In terms of value for money, the first places go to the online shops and branches of dm and Rossmann ahead of the online giant Amazon.
The most popular sectors with the highest level of customer satisfaction include sectors in the fields of technology and work, shopping, fashion and lifestyle, as well as sports, hobbies and leisure.
Weight loss portals, partner exchanges over 50 and teleshopping providers have fewer satisfied customers. Dating sites bring up the rear in the customer satisfaction ranking. None of the industries examined has more dissatisfied customers than this one.
